If you are currently scouring the internet looking for a pimple
remedy or a pimple cure then be advised that your are not alone in your
suffering and their are literally millions of people who are suffering
from the effects of pimples, each one searching for that elusive 'how
to get rid of pimples fast' remedy.
Its not unreasonable to be trying to find the right pimple remover or
the right pimple remedies as anyone who has ever suffered from them
will know the embarrassment that an infected pimple can cause. Left
untreated pimples can cause pimple scars and nobody wants to have their
face scarred or worse still suffer from the effects of untreated
pimples that develop into acne pimples!
The trouble is that with any health or beauty issue there is an
industry of people who are making a very good living on the back of
that next miracle 'get rid of a pimple' cure that promises to eradicate
your problem with their pimple treatment solutions.
The facts are somewhat different to the fiction and most pimple
treatments are just not adequate enough to deal with your pimple
removal overnight. Pimple cures are developed in laboratories and in
most cases the people developing these remedies are aiming to eliminate
pimples from the outside in. If you truly understand the workings of
the body and the basics of dermatology then you will begin to
understand that zits, spots or pimples are a natural occurring process
that effect almost everybody at some time within their life.
I know that this doesn't make it any easier when suffering from spots
but people will always suffer from skin problems as the skin is as
vulnerable to disease as any other part of the human anatomy.
What causes pimples!!
A pimple starts its life within the pores of the skin that become
clogged with oil produced from the sebaceous glands. It is not fully
understood why certain pores become blocked but once a pore is blocked
the reservoir of oil beneath is an ideal breeding ground for a specific
bacteria that develops into a pimple or a spot.
There are many areas of the body where pimples may develop but common
areas on the skin are nose pimples, back pimples, face pimples and
scalp pimples.
Many times pimple outbreaks commonly start when a teenager hits
puberty but pimple outbreaks are also common amongst adults especially
between the ages of 25-40. It is especially common for women to develop
pimples within their menstrual cycle due to excessive hormone changes
brought on by their periods.
Our skin is made up of millions of pores that contain tiny minute
like chambers. Within these chambers there sits the hair follicles, and
sebaceous glands that serve the skin by producing oil that keeps the
skin healthy and hydrated. If one of these pores gets a spec of dirt in
it then the pore will block and the oil beneath will become trapped.
The trapped oil (sedum) sits around unable to break through to the
skins surface and bacteria starts to populate the small reservoir of
oil. This then reacts badly within the skins layers and the body begins
to fight the infection flooding the infected area with white blood
cells.
Ever tried popping pimples? Of coarse you have. Well when
ever you try to pop a pimple you will usually find that the center of
the pimple will explode outwards. Analyze the contents further and you
should find a hard piece of substance within the mixture that is a
small rice like shaped particle. This is known as the blackhead or
whitehead and is usually the cause of the obstruction. The white matter
or pus surrounding this object is the bodies natural defenses at work
which have been producing white blood cells that attack any foreign
body. This is the pus like substance that is coating the blackhead/whitehead.
What are Blackheads?
The common name for this skin
disease is known as a blackhead but they are also known as open
comedones. Blackheads are wider than normal openings in the skin's pore
that are filled with plug like substances called sebum. The blackhead
gets its name from a naturally occuring process where the end of the
sebum comes into contact with oxygen and begins a chemical reaction
called oxidation. This oxidation process is what gives the blackhead
its typical black colour.
What are Whitheads?
Whiteheads are very, very similar to
blackheads however where the opening on a blackhead is relatively large
the opening on a whitehead is considerably smaller and has only a
microscopic opening leading to the skin surface. This means that the
oxidation process doesn't occur on the sebum and therefore the sebum
remains white.
